One of a series of acrylic on boards and canvases with the theme of garden birds.

This larger bird table canvas is inspired by the more common birds that visit my suburban back garden. The birds wouldn’t necessarily visit all at the same time but the image represents feeding over a longer period. The frenzy of activity doesn’t allow the eye to settle as the birds are constantly in motion.

The palette of colours represents the ever changing light and atmospheric conditions - from subtle greys to sky blue. The intention was to create an impression of movement with colours dissolving into each other as the activity is perpetual but, of course, the image is still, a frozen image of movement.
