An Ingenious Cluster of Found Flora - Acrylic on Board

£375.00

The organic shapes and forms of the ‘Wildflowers’ series are drawn and painted to create intensely colourful images that have areas of detail contrasted with open areas of pure colour and texture.  A surface history is created by manipulating the qualities of acrylic paint. Layer upon layer results in a surface that conceals and reveals glimpses of colourful, organic shapes, lines and textures.

These paintings were exhibited in 2014 in the beautiful, light-filled atrium of the Bexley Wing at St. James's University Hospital, Leeds with the aim to stimulate patients, staff and visitors alike in a life-enhancing celebration of the natural world.
